I have to say today was a little nuts. I went for a walk this morning, 6 miles, and then made it back home. So far, so good. Well, in the afternoon I decided I was going to go for another walk, so I made it another 6 miles. After a short twenty minute rest, I went for yet another walk ... this one ended up being 20 miles round-trip. That makes a total of 32 miles for the day. Call me crazy, but rest assured I will never do that again.
I did Jillian's day 4 in between the morning and afternoon walk, and I am very glad that I did. If I'd waited until after I got back from my craziness, I never would've been able to do it ... the later walk was supposed to be only 16 miles, guess I misjudged the distance. By the time I got back home, my hips were killing me, my back was getting stiff and the miles were taking more time to get through.
If I am going to make it through the marathon, I have some work to do with getting my lower body to be able to withstand that distance within a straight period of time.
Argh.
That is a LOT of walking... my GOD you will be ready for this marathon... I don't know if the marathon will be ready for YOU! (PS.... we should look into having some Icy Hot sponsorship/spokeswoman gig for you!)
ReplyDelete:) In any case, 32 miles in awesome! I think the Marines motto should apply to you right about now. Not many people can say they've ever covered that much ground in one day. You should be proud of such an accomplishment.
