Today marks the last day of our 30/31 day shred. Let me start off by saying, I am really really proud of us. It is hard to stick to anything daily and to start good new habits, especially ones that make you sweat and ache. There were plenty of times during this past 31 days where I just wanted to stop, quit and write off these months with the excuse of the holiday season. I'm so glad we kept going, and kept blogging about the literal ups (rockstar jumps!) and downs (plank position), and the emotional ones.
Highlights
I'd say that out of this entire experience, today is probably the best highlight. I don't know if I'm riding off of finish line high or what, but today felt awesome. I felt super strong. I was sweating, but happy, and the moves felt do-able. Another highlight was being able to move up from sealion push-ups to push-ups on my knees. And last, but not least, improvements in the ab workouts generally were quite noticeable.
Effects
To be honest, I have had little to no weight change. I will post a graph later to illustrate, but I'm basically where I started. No doubt this has to do with the fact that any weight loss is being counterbalanced by lots of holiday eating, and some muscle gain. Speaking of muscle gain, I did notice today that my quads, calves and abs are significantly tighter, especially my quads.
Traci - thank you for being there through all of this! Great work! And let's keep it up in round 2! :-)
It's so very awesome that round one is over and done with!! I wouldn't get caught up on the weight issue, you've gained muscle and have toned ... and you don't have the uber layers to shed like I do :-)
