And That's The Game

Well, the first round of shreddage is officially over with. I have to admit, I didn't think I would make it here when we started out. Janet, thank you for keeping me on my toes and pushing through to make it here.

Pros:

I do have to say, I've noticed a considerable change in my endurance level. Doing Jillian has not only helped me survive Jillian, but it has also helped me on my walk days. I've noticed that my walks are getting faster, the rough patch is over by the first mile and then I'm gliding for the remainder. I really hope this trend continues as my "long" walks get longer and longer.

On the other hand, I've definitely noticed a change in upper body strength with Jillian's help. The seals, as Janet called them, have migrated to actual feet on some (very few) and knees for the rest. The shoulder moves have gotten easier as time has gone on ... and I'm even starting to see the remnant of my clavicle (hello, stranger, I haven't seen you in years).

My back has gotten more comfortable with the movements and the stiffness that I was experiencing in the beginning has faded almost completely.

Weight changes - for me, having ample layers of extra that can disappear, Jillian certainly lived up to her word. From the time I started the program through today, I dropped in excess of 20 pounds. I do hope the trend continues through round two, as it will make pounding the sand for 26.2 miles a whole lot easier.

Cons:

I really don't have anything bad to say about the program. The beginning sucked and I would've given up in a heartbeat Janet wasn't there pushing me along. It was definitely hard, but I am hoping round two has a noticeable difference in terms of difficulty.

Ending thoughts on the 31 days ... hard, rewarding, hard, motivating.

  1. Well.... today's a Sunday. Are we on for Jillian Day 1? Or is it one of our other videos today?
