Well, today is the first day of our second round of Jillian Michaels. As Janet said, we are changing it up a bit this time around - actually looking forward to this 30 day run.
Today --
Well, today wasn't such a great day for me. I got up this morning and after a few songs on Guitar Hero I had to head into work. I was at work until 9pm this evening working on a brief that has to be filed on Tuesday, so needless to say today was definitely not ideal. For the first time in a very LONG time I ate fast food today ... I got a sandwich from Chik-fil-et (or however the name goes). I was starving, hadn't eaten all day and wanted to have something in my stomach before starting Jillian, but not something that just went down the gullet before starting. I have a feeling this is going to be a mistake ... my body is no longer used to eating that kind of food, so I don't think tonight/tomorrow will be very pleasant. Oh well, it gave me the boost I needed to get through day one.
The Workout --
Holy Shit. I miss Anita. This workout was like looking at Natalie and Natalie 2.0. What happened to the nice modifications?
I do have to say, I loved circuit one. I was breathing hard at the end of circuit two. By circuit three through the end of the workout I was running on fumes. BUT, I made it through the entire thing. I am very proud of myself for hanging in there. There was even a nice little tribute to one of Denise Austin's famed moves in there - the knee raise, ab crunch in the last circuit. Ah, the days when it was Denise Austin kicking my ass ... but I don't remember her kicking quite this hard.
On a positive note, I think I am going to try and work this one in more than once a week. I felt great after finishing it and knowing that I made it through. Tomorrow will be level one of the 30 day shred and then it will be an alternate Jillian Michaels. Perhaps I will try and work this one in again on Thursday. We will have to see how my body is adjusting.
I really do miss Anita.
This video is awesome and I'm so glad we're doing it.
ReplyDeleteAnita 2.0 is right. It's like jacked up versions of Anita and Natalie. With jacked up exercises to go along with it. I'm sure you worked off the fast food in no time doing a workout like this. If anything, it was probably a lil workout for your system. You shouldn't feel bad at all, you've been doing great all around!
