With day nine finally finishing and level one terminating tomorrow I find myself harboring mixed feelings. For one, I am glad that level one is about over - glad that I have survived it; but on the other hand, I am dreading starting level two. It has been a long while so I don't really recall what level two has hidden behind the curtain, but it can't be good.
On another note, I decided to ramp up my non-walking/running exercise and started doing another 30 day challenge on my Wii Active game. Very similar to what Jillian does, but easier to watch and you can choose the intensity level based on how you're feeling (I did low intensity for the first day) :) I made it through the first workout right after finishing up day 9 of level 1 - and hope I can make it through all 30 days.
Speaking of making it through, I am seriously considering splurging and getting myself a pair of compression tights. They may not look very fashionable, but they help keep knees stable and make it easier on the muscles for the longer runs/walks. My left knee has been a little shifty over the past couple of days, and I am totally chalking it up to the change in the weather, but I don't need to have an incident so I got a lovely brace just to help keep the thing in line for the time being. The compression tights will not only help keep that wonderful knee on the straight and narrow, but it will help with the muscle strain that I know is coming as the distances increase. Another plus of the compression tights, they totally keep the jiggles in check.
Wii Challenge - cool! Is it the Jillian Michaels for Wii? In any case, that's awesome that you're doing it. What is the routine like?
ReplyDeleteCompression tights - yes, totally if they will help. Please be careful with your knee - NO INJURIES ALLOWED!
It's not the Jillian Michaels one for the Wii -- I don't think I could stand doing two of her routines in a day. It's the EA Sports Active Personal Trainer. I think my mentality with getting through games is easier than getting through the actual real-person workouts because you see the ticker counting down, see progress as you're working through it - and in the end you get to see your chart. All of that helps my mind work through it all, and I think that's my biggest stumbling block.
