Day 15 - The Turkey Gobble Wobble

Happy Thanksgiving! First of all, I'd like to say that I am so thankful for Traci and this blog. I would cheat and quit if it weren't for you Traci. Thank you for being encouraging and wonderful.

Here in Houston it's a balmy 80 degrees with a lovely 80% humidity to match. I put in some cardio today - about 3 miles of running, which was excruciating - and some walking with Slater-boy which was much more manageable, but my clothes were already drenched at that point. It didn't help that the clouds above Hermann Park simply couldn't decide whether to rain or not, so they drizzled on and off the whole time.

The Gobble
I mentioned previously that my firm was having a Thanksgiving lunch on Tuesday. Josh and I made mac and cheese and mashed potatoes for it. It was a big feast, and we had lots of leftovers plus some other leftovers that were donated to us. Of course I couldn't let perfectly good carbs like that go to waste. (Captain of the Clean Plate Club right here.) So, breakfast lunch and dinner, plus various snacks since Tuesday have consisted of pasta, potatoes, and stuffing.

The Wobble
All those carbs were great to scarf down, but BOY AM I PAYING FOR IT NOW. Holy friggin cow was the JM workout today tough. I did my cardio before the workout, so I was already sweaty and tired. The shoulder exercises were killing me today (probably because I was holding up an extra 5 lbs in mashed potato belly) and I had to take a couple breaks. Gaaaahhh.

Lesson: Taking it easy on Thanksgiving dinner tonight. And eating better in the week to come. I picked up some of those Lean Cuisine steamers Traci mentioned. They do look delish.
