It occurred to me today that the way that me and Traci are feeling is probably a result of Jillian Michaels burnout. Normally, when you are training for an event, you do not exercise every day, let alone, do the exact same exercises everyday. Yet here we are doing the 30 Day Shred, and we've been doing the same workout every day for 8 days now. While it's only 25 minutes a day, it still wears out the same muscle groups and they don't get time to have a full recovery.
The reason I was thinking about my burnout theory was because today, my workout felt a lot better than yesterday. Still not easy, don't get me wrong, but not the horrible "going through the motions" barely able to get back up after the plank moves feeling from yesterday. I think the reason for this is that I worked out yesterday morning, and then today late in the evening. This gave my body a long time to recover, and I did not feel like I was dragging my butt through the exercises.
Otherwise, not much has changed. Plank moves are tough as ever (though my turkey gobble tum seems to be diminishing slightly). Shoulder workouts are kiiiillling meeeeeee....
I wish I could chalk mine up to burning out ... my head just isn't where it needs to be for this daily routine.
