I guess Traci and I are just suckers for punishment: 3 years of law school, 2 months of bar review, 1 bar exam (we passed!! Colorado - her, Texas - me), and a seemingly endless job hunt. No one said it was going to be easy. In fact, during bar review class, I heard the instructors say time and again, "this exam is not a sprint, it's a marathon." Frankly, this same phrase applies to life. I believe it was that wise sage Ice Cube himself who said "life ain't a track meet, it's a marathon."
So in the spirit of keepin' on, keepin' on, we signed up for the Surfside Beach Marathon in Surfside, Texas on Feb. 26, 2011. Accompanying us will be my dear husband, Josh. I signed Josh and myself up for the couples division - let's see how it goes. Josh was in the military for 5 years and has developed a fond hatred for running. But his sheer steely determination has carried him grimacing across a half marathon finish line at least once before. I have faith it'll kick in again.
Well Traci, here we go!
