Day 6 - Pace Yourself

Life as a Marathon
The analogy of a marathon came up again today in regards to the legal profession. This afternoon, I was sworn-in as an attorney in Texas. Our master of ceremonies was the president of the young lawyers association, and she passed on some tips for new attorneys. Tip No. 10: "Pace yourself for a marathon." Traci and I can speak to that quite literally!

Day 6
Completed Day 6 today. Only 4 more of Level 1 to go. Felt pretty good. Some burning on jumping jacks and jumping rope, but other than that, I felt strong. Traci mentioned abs being asleep on the job, and mine have been most of the time. I'm still waiting for them to kick in and let me know they're doing some hard work. I hope that tomorrow will be that day.

Cardio
I must say I've been remiss about cardio. I was on the verge of a cold last week and that was my excuse for not doing cardio, but now I have no excuse. We are training for a marathon after all. Today I trekked out for a 2.6 mile run with Christina and Josh and it felt good to work the lungs again.

Possible Injury
I'm feeling some strain in my left knee, in the muscle just under the knee cap. I'm wondering if I overextended on some lunges, or if it's just a minor tick that will go away. I don't want to disappoint Jillian who said NO INJURIES ALLOWED, but it may in fact be an injury. Hope not.

  1. Oh man, I hope your knee starts to feel better. No injuries here, injuries are forbidden. Icy Hot has become my friend to take care of the shin problems after my long walks ... works like a charm.
