Ok, so I started Level 2, day 1 today - and all I can say ... IS SHE FREAKING KIDDING ME??
A master yogi I am not - what the heck is with all the moves from plank pose. Really, standing, touch your toes and walk out to plank, do a push-up, rinse and repeat. Um, ok, so on this move, while they were continually moving I think I made it through three total repetitions. It takes me a while longer to get down into plank pose, do a push-up and then walk, with my arms, all the way back up without falling to my knees and cheating. I am really glad that I didn't cheat, but holy crap.
I thought that was going to be it for the plank poses, ha, boy was I wrong. There is a plank jack -- let's just say I modified mine to simple jumping jacks with my hand weights. There is no way I can stay in a plank pose for that long for that exercise.
Then there is the plank sit-up thing at the end - um, I don't think so. I modified this one to being in a V and flapping my arms for the duration. My back and knees cannot handle that particular exercise right now.
Oh, there is another one that I had to modify - the oblique twist, yeah, I like my knees to stay intact, so that is another one that was modified.
Will I be able to make it through level two at any point without these personal modifications, who knows. I didn't think I would make it through level one, and I did, so maybe time will be on my side and help me out with these darn plank moves.
Seriously, I didn't sign up for yoga.
This is kind of ridiculoso man!! If I keep sweating like this, I can quit hot yoga.
