How the Day Began ...
This morning I got my distance walk in because I didn't feel like freezing my butt off doing it when I got home. I felt good when I went into work today, and when I talked to Janet figured today would be as good a day as any to start the "shredding." Um, boy was I wrong.
How the Day Ended ...
Within the first five minutes I thought I was going to die, literally.
Sidenote ...
To put this in perspective, when I first started the training for the big day in February, I started with 6 miles on my walks. I did this because I've been walking daily for a very long while and the distance has never been an issue for me. I wanted to jump right in, and I'm glad that I did. I was able to make my "long" runs into 10 milers, and my body has been adjusting just as I would expect. I've had no issues and the walks get faster and easier (which means it's time to throw in some run/walks), but I've been moving around out there.
Back on Track ...
To Jillian Michaels, my moving around means absolutely zip. The best I can hope is that after starting this and keeping on track (the tough part), my body will adjust and I won't feel like dying after only five minutes. One can hope, right?
As I finished the 24 minute routine every crick that I have in my body was crying out. I was drenched and looked like I just came in from a rain storm, yet I felt surprisingly satisfied. Jillian, I made it through day one ... let's see if I can make it through tomorrow.
