Hot Yoga

I still can't get over how much I love hot yoga... it's just so comforting to be in such a warm humid room... it's like being back in the womb. Actually, the last yoga class I went to, I fell asleep on my mat after the class and no one woke me up!! Granted, the heat does make the workout harder, but at the same time, it's more gratifying because you're sweating so much you really feel like you're burning mondo calories, when if fact, you're just kind of moving here and there.

I went to a later class than usual today, and ended up with a different instructor, whom I really really liked. Also, the studio I got uses a specific series of poses, and this instructor mixed them up a bit, which I also liked. All in all, it was nice to do a hot yoga class since it's been so long.

  1. I wish I could find a place to do that around here that didn't cost a fortune. That is one thing about living in the land of the outdoors, yoga studios abound but they will make you sign over your first born. Ridiculous if you ask me, but I don't think it will matter if I take this job ... my amount of free time will become limited to the weekends only. Joy Joy.

  2. Ugh, the eternal tradeoff: money, time, happiness..... pick one, maybe two, but certainly not all three!!

As for yoga, if you’re interested in trying just a few classes, check out Groupon and those other deal sites. I got a package of 5 classes for $25 at my yoga studio off one of those sites, and that’s a steal compared to their usual $15/class. My studio also offers work for classes - help them with some cleaning or advertising and get free classes. Worth a try if you can’t hand over your first born!
