Four Hours Later ...

So I went for 3.5 hours this afternoon, and what do I have to show for it ... a raw spot on my ribcage from my heart rate monitor. Frigging thing kept rubbing because I didn't adjust it properly before starting out, and lifting up my shirt in the middle of the road to fix it wouldn't have been very PC, so I left it alone and now have to deal with a raw spot. Good news, it'll be gone in a day or two.

I enjoyed the sun, put my sunscreen to good use and just enjoyed myself today. My pace was slower than I'm used to (and Janet is going to laugh at this given her 6+ mph pace being slow), and I stayed around 3.3 mph for my walk today. My normal pace is between 3.7 and 4, so it was leisurely today and yesterday, but I needed it to be that way to get myself used to the time element again.

Given that Janet got in 12 miles today, I feel like a total slacker - and tortoise to boot.

  1. You really should not feel like a slacker at all! You packed in a LOT of mileage this weekend and that's something to be proud of.

How does your heart rate monitor work that it bruises? Do you have one of those watch versions?

  2. Well, the HRM is a strap that goes just under your bra line and it reads out in a watch ... the straps are more accurate due to the proximity placement. The left side of it started to slip because I didn't tighten it like I should have, and now I just have to deal with it.
