13 Day to Go - 12 Miles
I had intentions of doing 12 miles on Friday, but was so sore from P90X, I ended up taking a two day break to let my hips recover... and eat oysters, which are now in season in the Gulf Coast. Today, I peeled myself off the couch and out to do a 12 mile run. Dread. But there was no good excuse not to go. The weather was sunny, but breezy, and I had nothing else to do. I forgot how long it takes to run a mile. But I was reminded soon enough. The first mile felt fine, but I made sure to go really really slowly so that I didn't wear myself out. Around mile 4, my right knee started feeling a lot of tension, and I was concerned that it would give out, and I'd have to quit. I kept running and pretty soon, forgot about the knee entirely. My entire focus by mile 10 became merely to finish the 12 miles. According to my iPod tracker, I started off at a 9.5 min mile and ended at about an 12 minute mile. My hips are pretty sore right now, like my legs are going to fall out of their sockets. I have a few blisters. I'm ready for a good night's sleep.

Your pace is awesome!! Even with the slowing down, that is a great pace for the full. My walking pace ranges from 16 min/mile to 18 min/mile. On game day I will decide whether or not it will be a run/walk or a walk.
